Kirk Herbstreit’s Dog Steals the Show During USC-LSU Broadcast

The headline of Saturday night’s college football slate was the ranked matchup between No. 23 USC and No. 13 LSU, but the real star of the show was Kirk Herbstreit’s golden retriever Ben.

As Herbstreit and Rece Davis were doing a pre-game breakdown of the contest before kickoff, Ben made his way into the broadcast booth and also ended up getting some air time on the broadcast.

“Ben’s down here,” Herbstreit said. “It’s a big booth, he’s just working his way around.”

And as entertaining as the game was, social media was blowing up with people demanding to see more of Ben.

“We need a Ben update @KirkHerbstreit @uscfb @LSUfootball,” another replied .

“Give the people what they want - more Ben content,” a third user stated .

One follower suggested Ben replace Pat McAfee on “College GameDay,” while another proposed a 24/7 Ben cam during broadcasts.

Ben makes regular appearances with Herbstreit on “College GameDay” and he’s also made some sporadic appearances on Amazon Prime’s “Thursday Night Football” and is a favorite of Herbstreit’s broadcast partner Al Michaels.
