DeAndre Hopkins Predicted to Reunite With Deshaun Watson in 'Bold' Trade

Despite trading for former first-round pick Jerry Jeudy to pair with No. 1 wide receiver Amari Cooper, the Cleveland Browns' receiver depth is among the team's biggest question marks in 2024.

    Enter: DeAndre Hopkins?

Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine put together a list of " Bold Trade Predictions Before the 2024 NFL Season Kicks Off ," including a Browns-Titans swap that could reunite Hopkins with quarterback Deshaun Watson.

"Some of the Browns newly found financial freedom could be used to make one last major addition to the roster during the season," Ballentine wrote. "DeAndre Hopkins is a logical hypothetical target. The 32-year-old showed he's still got it with a 1,000-yard season in 2023, but the Titans are in the middle of a rebuild and the veteran is on the final year of his contract."

Hopkins, currently in the final season of the two-year, $26 million deal he signed with Tennessee in July 2023, surpassed the 1,000-yard mark last season for the first time since 2020.

During Watson's two full seasons as Houston's starter in 2018 and 2019, Hopkins averaged 109.5 catches, 1,368 yards and 9 touchdowns, and earned two of his three career First-Team All-Pro selections.

The last time the Browns finished a season with multiple 1,000-yard receivers was in 2019 with Jarvis Landry (1,174) and Odell Beckham Jr (1,035). That season , no other pass-catcher finished with more than 285 yards through the air.

Cleveland is an intriguing team to watch before the NFL's November 5 trade deadline due to its league-leading $50 million in salary cap space . Nearly $36 million of that came in late August when the team converted $44.7 million of Watson's 2024 base salary into a signing bonus.

According to ESPN , "The Browns are expected to roll over the majority of the cap space to have financial flexibility in the 2025 offseason" when offensive stars such as Cooper and Nick Chubb are scheduled to hit the free agent market.

    Still, the flexibility is there.
