Michigan cornerback Will Johnson showcased his skills in a standout performance against Fresno State, helping secure a 30-10 victory.

With just over four minutes left in the game and Michigan leading 23-10, Johnson made a game-changing play by intercepting a screen pass and returning it 86 yards for a touchdown.

This pivotal moment not only sealed the win but also served as a highlight in what had been a challenging game for him.

Despite the impressive play, Johnson acknowledged that he faced more challenges than usual, as he was targeted frequently by Fresno State's offense.

"I wasn't too happy with my performance before that, so being able to finish it that way definitely made me feel a little bit better about the game," Johnson said during his media availability with reporters on Monday .

He experienced some setbacks, including getting beaten on a corner route, but he remained focused on improving his game.

"I think I did good. I think I got a lot of room to improve. ... I don't like getting the ball caught on me at all, so anytime they catch the ball, it's definitely not a good thing to me, but gotta go onto the next play and try to make a play when my number's called."

Looking ahead, Johnson is preparing for a tougher matchup against Texas, whose receiving corps had a strong showing in their recent game, racking up 355 yards and four touchdowns.

"They got a lot — the receivers, played against [Isaiah] Bond last year. I've actually played — I was on the same 7-on-7 team with [Matthew] Golden in high school, so they're very explosive, a lot of experience, good set of guys."

Johnson is aware of the talent Texas brings to the field and is ready to step up to the challenge.

"I think they've got a very explosive group, a very explosive team as a whole. Quinn Ewers is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, so we've got to be prepared for them, and we're ready to go out there and execute."

As the Wolverines gear up for this high-profile game, Johnson is confident that the atmosphere will be electric, reminiscent of major bowl games.

"I'm expecting it to be very exciting. ... It's gonna be a lot of people up here, all the TV crews; it's gonna be like the Rose Bowls, the Ohio State games, those type of games, and I feel like that's when we play our best football."

The upcoming clash promises to be an exciting test for Michigan as they aim to continue their winning momentum.
