The Detroit Lions are gearing up for a highly anticipated season opener against the Los Angeles Rams , aiming to break their own crowd noise record at Ford Field.

After a thrilling playoff victory over the Rams last January, the Lions are looking to harness that energy and enthusiasm once again.

Last season, the Lions fans set a record noise level of 133.6 decibels during the wild-card game, making it the fourth-loudest in NFL history.

The atmosphere was electric, and the team is counting on that same intensity from their supporters this Sunday night.

“I’m fully expecting our fans to try and break that sound record again,” left tackle Taylor Decker said . “You know it’s going to be rocking, and they’re going to be partying all day. It’s going to be fun. And they deserve to have the fun because they’ve been supporting us, or supporting this team for maybe 30-40 years.”

The Lions have seen a surge in fan engagement, selling out Ford Field for the second consecutive season.

This marks a significant change for a franchise that struggled to fill seats in the past. With a waiting list for tickets now exceeding 15,000, the excitement surrounding the team is palpable.

As the Lions prepare for their Super Bowl quest, they expect a raucous crowd that will create a challenging environment for the Rams.

The team is ready to embrace the noise and the competitive spirit of their fans, who have long supported them through thick and thin.

“Knowing our fans, I’m expecting hostile territory for anybody who comes in here,” Decker said . “I know Stafford is going to take that in stride as a competitor.

"I don’t think that’s going to bother him one bit. But that’s just the nature of the business. They want to cheer for their team and anybody who comes in here is the enemy. So, we’ll see. I could be wrong, but I think it will be hostile territory.”

This season opener promises to be a significant moment for the Lions and their loyal fanbase, as they look to make a statement right out of the gate.
