Shohei Ohtani is on track to achieve a historic 50-50 season. The Los Angeles Dodgers star stole three bases during a recent game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, bringing his total to 46 stolen bases this season. He also hit his 44th home run in a previous matchup, showcasing his remarkable offensive skills.

Ohtani's first steal came in the fourth inning after he walked. He added two more steals in the seventh inning following a single, successfully swiping second and then third base shortly after. All three steals were against the Diamondbacks' backup catcher, who has struggled to throw out base runners this season.

With 24 games left in the season, Ohtani needs just four more stolen bases and six home runs to reach the unprecedented milestone. This season, he has already surpassed his previous best of 26 stolen bases, achieved in 2021 when he won the American League MVP award.

Ohtani's increased aggressiveness on the base paths can be attributed to his new role as a leadoff hitter, a change made due to Mookie Betts' injury. Additionally, the new rules in Major League Baseball, including larger bases and restrictions on pickoff attempts, have likely contributed to his success in stealing bases.

As the season progresses, fans are eager to see if Ohtani can make history with his 50-50 achievement.
