'Going To Be A Problem': Commanders' Jayden Daniels Scouted By Buccaneers' Todd Bowles

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is getting closer to his NFL debut, with the Week 1 clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just days away.

With Daniels as the centerpiece of the Commanders' offseason work, naturally, expectations are high for what he could accomplish in his rookie season.

First up is Todd Bowles' Buccaneers team, which won the division and a playoff game last year. So they won't be pushovers, but neither will the Commanders and Bowles gave his thoughts on facing Washington's young quarterback.

“Anytime you face a dual-threat quarterback, it's going to be a problem," Bowles said . "I mean, he can beat you with his legs or his arm. He was taken that high for a reason, very accurate, very calm in the pocket, has a good mastery of the offense from what we've seen. It's going to be tough trying to keep them in the pocket and try trying to cover those guys.”

Daniels will be seeing a lot of firsts on Sunday, and since it is a road game, the rookie will get a baptism of fire from Bowles' stout defense.

However, the Commanders revamped the offensive line with Tyler Biadasz and Nick Allegretti and have decent weapons for Jayden to utilize.

Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown , Luke McCaffrey, Olamide Zaccheaus, Zach Ertz, and Ben Sinnott, along with Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr., all give Kliff Kingsbury's offense something different.

Bowles knows it will be tough trying to curtail a quarterback who is equally as devastating throwing the ball as he is running it, and that will be the biggest challenge for the Buccaneers.

Daniels has a variety of ways he can slice and dice a defense, and come Week 1, in his first meaningful NFL game, perhaps we will see why he was the second overall pick.
