Caitlin Clark is having a historic rookie season to start her WNBA career with the Indiana Fever.

Not only does she have the Fever primed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016, but she has also broken some sort of record in what seems to be every game. Whether it be shooting, passing, or the league's first rookie triple-double, Clark has been doing it all.

However, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star can become too competitive at times, complaining to the referees on many occasions throughout the year.

Even Iowa coach Jan Jensen would agree. In a recent interview, Jensen revealed what it was like coaching Clark, comparing her personality to "toddler behavior."

"I just think it's kind of like raising a child," Jensen said. "Sometimes, what you see, it looks like toddler behavior. Sometimes you are going to reprimand them right away or sometimes you put them in timeout later... [Clark] pushed, and we stretched all of our knowledge and experiences."

Jensen then went on to reveal the trick to coaching Clark.

"When we were recruiting her, you would see some of those eruptions," Jensen added. "The trick is, we want to tame her, never break her. I think we did it... Now, with Indiana, they start to get her. They're starting to be like, 'okay.'"

When Clark was at Iowa from 2020 to 2024, her head coach was Lisa Bluder. Once Clark declared for the WNBA, Bluder announced her retirement from coaching, leaving Jensen, the former assistant coach, in charge.

In college, Clark became the NCAA's all-time scoring leader with 3,951 points, surpassing former LSU Tigers star Pete Maravich. She also led the Hawkeyes to two straight national championships, falling just short of the title in each.
