The Ohio State Buckeyes began the college football season with a dominant 52-6 win over Akron in Columbus. It was never much of a contest as Ohio State held a 17-3 lead at halftime and scored 35 second-half points.

The 2024 Buckeyes team features many new faces, including quarterback Will Howard, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, and running back Quinshon Judkins. The latter transferred from Ole Miss after rushing for 2,500 yards combined in his past two seasons with the Rebels.

Now, he is forming a formidable 1-2 RB duo with Treveyon Henderson. In Judkins' first game, he had 13 carries for 55 yards and a score, while Henderson had eight carries for 65 yards.

On Wednesday, Judkins spoke about his first game at Ohio State and tossed a jab toward Ole Miss in the process, per Chase Brown.

“A one-of-a-kind experience. Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience,” Judkins said. “Over 100,000 (fans in the stadium). Being at Ole Miss, I only got to see that at away games.”

It's a strong statement from Judkins, although it's also factual.

In 2023 against LSU, Ole Miss set the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium record with 66,703 fans in attendance.

In Ohio State's opener against Akron, there were 102,011 fans in attendance in Columbus, which is the norm for Buckeyes home games.

In July, it was reported that Ohio State had sold 56,998 season tickets for its eight home games, per Joey Kaufman of The Columbus Dispatch.

In 2023, Ole Miss played road games against Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. Now, the Buckeyes' new running back is on the other side of the spectrum, with 100,000 fans on hand for a home game.

Ohio State hosts Western Michigan in Week 2 before a Week 3 bye.
