Since being traded from the Buffalo Bills in the offseason, wide receiver Stefon Diggs has become very vocal about his struggles with the team in his last season. Now, in a new interview with GQ Magazine , Diggs has opened up even more about his mental health problems in Buffalo.

In the interview, Diggs detailed how his mental health reached its lowest point during the 2023 season.

“Last year, I was in the worst mental space I’ve been in since I’ve been in the league,” Diggs said. “If I'm not in a good space, obviously that's not the best for me. So that's when things had to start shaking out.”

In March, the Bills traded Diggs, along with multiple late-round picks, to the Houston Texans for a second-round pick. According to Diggs, the trade didn't come as much of a surprise.

“We had some talks with Buffalo,” Diggs said. “We knew where things were going—I did, at least. The outside world had so much speculation. I knew, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year to the offseason, exactly what was going on.”

Although his mental struggles may have been more severe than many realized, they did still have an impact on his performances in games. Statistically, Diggs had his worst season in the NFL since 2019 when he was with Minnesota. It was his first year finishing under 1,200 receiving yards since joining Buffalo.
