Are Bills to Blame For Stefon Diggs, 'Worst Mental Head Space?'

Before the start of the 2024 season, All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs made his thoughts about his departure from the Buffalo Bills as clear as day.

It may not be anyone's fault regarding their split.

“Last year, I was in the worst mental space I’ve been in since I’ve been in the league,” Diggs said. “If I'm not in a good space, obviously that's not the best for me. So that's when things had to start shaking out.”

Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans - his third team since being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 - as an end to his four-year run with the Bills that saw him record over 440 catches and over 5,300 yards.

While Diggs has not specifically said what was the cause of his mental health decline, the reality is that it may not have been the Bills' fault.

Buffalo paired their top receiver with one of the most dominant quarterbacks of the modern era in Josh Allen, and even won the last four division titles in the AFC East.

Diggs appears more complimentary than anything else of his time with the Bills - a reality that neither side was really in the wrong - they just needed their official time part.
