How Much Will Knicks Miss Isaiah Hartenstein?

The New York Knicks have made a number of moves this offseason that have made them better, but they did lose a player in free agency that could sting a little bit.

In a recent article by Jasmyn Wimbish of CBS Sports , she outlines the biggest question facing each Atlantic Division team ahead of the season. For the Knicks, one of the things they are going to have to figure out how to do is play without center Isaiah Hartenstein.

"The Knicks re-signed Precious Achiuwa on a $6 million deal, and he'll be part of the big man rotation along with Robinson and Jericho Sims," Wimbish writes. "But they won't have the frontcourt prowess they had last season."

Hartenstein started off the year on the bench, but he came in and was the starting center when Mitchell Robinson got sidelined with an ankle injury after appearing in just 31 games.

Hartenstein averaged just under eight points and eight rebounds per game this past season, and he did so on 64 percent shooting from the field. He was also able to chip in a block and a steal, as he was also able to get it done on the defensive end.

It will be a bit of an adjustment to playing without him, but the Knicks will have to learn quick if they want to contend with the likes of the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference this season.
