Chiefs' Travis Kelce 'Ready To Rock!' For Week 1 vs. Ravens

It's official: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is ready to get the new season off and running.

With the Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens in a matchup of last season's AFC Championship game , there couldn't be a bigger way to begin the year. As the Ravens are one of Kansas City's conference rivals, there is more than just bragging rights available to the victor.

And Kelce is all gas and no brakes as he enters year 12 with the excitement of getting the regular season rolling getting too much to contain.

“Ready to rock,” Kelce said . “I never been more excited to be honest, we got a great team a great group of guys that are putting all their heart into every single day and that's fun to be a part of.”

Travis had a down year by his lofty standards, totaling 984 yards (the lowest since 2015) and five touchdowns (the fewest since 2019). The veteran tight end might have been thinking about hanging up the cleats.

But refreshed after a full training camp, Kelce has found a little extra motivation entering year 12, and he's simply happy he gets to do what he loves for another season.

"I'm excited, get to play another year of football,” Kelce added. “Fresh slate, get to kind of prove to ourselves and Chiefs Kingdom that we're one of the top dogs, and we can play at a high-level. It's exciting.”

The Chiefs have a tough start to the season with the Ravens and then Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals on the schedule, and the defending Super Bowl champs have a chance to lay down an early season marker against two fellow contenders.

If Kansas City comes out and rolls both the Ravens and Bengals, then the rest of the conference must wonder what will stop this juggernaut from claiming a third straight Super Bowl.
