The Oklahoma City Thunder had a historic run a season ago. They shockingly won 57 games before putting together a postseason run that should excite you about the future.

While the Thunder were climbing the ranks, their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue, evolved into a powerhouse. The Blue stormed through the regular season and ultimately won the championship.

Now that the upcoming regular season schedule has been announced, the Blues look to settle back in and begin their ardent title defense.

    The Blue season schedule announced

The team delivered its first championship last season and aims to double down. The Blue’s season will commence on November 12 against the Texas Legends and end on March 29 against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The season will consist of 50 games. Pursuing a title will begin with a 16-game “Tip-Off Tournament” — similar to the NBA Cup — and the 34 regular-season games will follow. The top four eight teams from four different regions will advance to compete in the G League Winter Showcase December 18-22 in Orlando.

After the tournament, teams’ records will reset to start the regular season, which commences on December 27. The best six clubs from each conference will punch their ticket into the G League playoffs and pursue a championship.

The Blue’s title from a season ago reflects a well-operated program. In addition to the adrenaline rush that’ll stem from aiming for consecutive titles, the Blue welcome new faces like the electric Ajay Mitchell and Alex Ducas. Mitchell, the Thunder’s No. 38 pick in June’s draft, is expected to harbor a significant role as he looks to segway into a permanent NBA role. Ducas, the undrafted rookie, will aim to find his footing in the G League and make a name for himself, similar to returning Blue star Adam Flagler.

With plenty of talent on the roster, the Blue are firmly positioned to make another run at a title and establish themselves at the top of the G League mountain.
