Former No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 WNBA draft, Chiney Ogwumike, recently spoke about the hottest team in the league, the Indiana Fever.
Rookie Caitlin Clark is currently heading the Fever, who are riding a five-game win streak after defeating the Los Angeles Sparks on Sept. 4.
Following the win over L.A., Ogwumike went on ESPN to reveal one major stat that could put Clark in the history books.
Ogwumike explained that Caitlin Clark is on pace to generate the most points in a single season in WNBA history, given her elite versatility as a scorer and playmaker.
This means Clark has helped the Fever produce points and assists, both of which she is responsible for in generating points on the board.
During the Fever's five-game win streak, Clark generated the most points created in a five-game win streak in league history with 224.
The rookie has been putting on a show all season for Indiana. She's averaged 18.9 points, 8.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game. Clark is leading all rookies in average points and leading the WNBA in average assists.
She hasn't just been a star in her own realm, but Clark has also helped her teammates record some incredible numbers throughout the year.
In the Fever's recent victory over the Sparks, Kelsey Mitchell ended the game with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists. Aliyah Boston finished the night with 24 points, 14 rebounds and four assists.
Clark has been able to open the floor for players like Mitchell and Boston since she attracts so much attention from the opposing defense as a scoring threat.

The rookie has helped the Fever secure their first WNBA playoff spot since 2016. They haven't just won five straight; Indiana has won nine of their last 11 games, helping them soar up the WNBA standings.
Clark and the Fever are currently 18-16 on the season, ranked as the No. 6 team in the league.
