Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic finished third in NBA MVP voting last season. Averaging 33.9 points, 9.8 assists and 9.2 rebounds in 70 games, Doncic led the Mavericks to a fifth-seed finish and eventual Western Conference championship.

The duo of Doncic and Kyrie Irving found their way last season but could still be one piece away from challenging a team like the Boston Celtics, who eliminated Dallas in the NBA Finals.

Spending time in China as part of the Jordan Brand Family Tour, Doncic is joined by other NBA stars like Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson.

A picture of Williamson and Doncic has been turning heads online, as Mavericks fans are intrigued by the two Western Conference stars linking up in China.

"MAVERICK," popular Mavericks account @Mavs_FFL wrote on X.

This post has tallied over 80,000 views and 2,900 likes as of writing. Several Mavericks fans have expressed their interest in a potential NBA pairing of Doncic and Williamson.

"Been asking for him for 2 years. He gonna come soon," @BurgzzzMavs wrote.

Williamson is entering the second year of a five-year, $197 million dollar contract, which makes any trade very complicated. That said, some fans still want to see the two-time NBA All-Star in Dallas.

"This duo actually could beat Boston," @mangetspaid wrote.

Any trade that sends Williamson to Dallas would have to include a combination of multiple salaries like the $11 million Maxi Kleber is owed next season.

"Maxi Kleber, you ARE a New Orleans Pelican," @Blnd420 wrote.

The likelihood of Williamson ending up in Dallas is small, but the theoretical fit is intriguing. One of the most athletic players in the NBA, Williamson would be a fun lob threat for Doncic.
