Alabama true freshman receiver Ryan Williams garnered significant buzz leading up to his debut in Week 1. Williams should technically be a senior in high school and a prospect for the 2025 class, however, he reclassified as part of the 2024 class to be an active member for the Crimson Tide.

Williams has received a lot of praise from his coaching staff and was predicted to make an instant impact for the Tide against Western Kentucky.

That he did. Williams would record just two receptions for 139 yards but both catches resulted in big-play touchdowns.

His performance opened the eyes of many around the country, as the youngest player on the football field was making tremendously big plays.

The Next Round produced a graphic on X which showed the leading receivers after the conclusion of Week 1, and Williams ranks among the top of the list.

Williams lands at No. 2 behind Ole Miss' Tre Harris, who bested Williams by 40 yards and had six more receptions.

The true freshman sensation is off to a hot start in 2024, and many expect the same type of impact in Alabama's upcoming home matchup against USF.
