The level of competition in the world of gymnastics can be as intense as any other sport out there. At the same time, however, the athletes have been known to be very supportive of each other -- be it retired legends or those who are actively pursuing greatness in the sport.

This was exactly the case on Wednesday, September 4, when gymnastics icon Nadia Comaneci sent a special shoutout to Simone Biles during the latter's appearance at the US Open tennis tournament in New York.

Biles, the most decorated gymnast in the history of the sport, blew up online on Wednesday after gracing the esteemed tennis event. The US Open shared a handful of photos of the 27-year-old watching from the stands, and unsurprisingly, the Instagram post quickly went viral (close to 50,000 views in less than 24 hours).

Comaneci also took notice of Biles' most recent public appearance, and the nine-time Olympic medalist also took to Instagram to share her subtle reaction to the same.

"Tennis fan @usopen 🤗 @simonebiles," the Romanian legend captioned her photo.

Comaneci, who has five Olympic gold medals to her name, also shared a post by USA Gymnastics on X, formerly Twitter, reacting to Biles' viral moment at the US Open.

Comaneci did not caption her post, but she appears to agree with the message.

Biles watched two matches on Wednesday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. She witnessed world No. 1 Jannik Sinner of Italy defeat Russian Daniil Medvedev (No. 5 seed) in the men's quarter-final. Biles also watched American Jessica Pegula advance to the semi-final after a win against Polish opponent Iga Swiate.
