Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal recently spoke about the WNBA rookie class, sharing his thoughts on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

O'Neal's respect for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been well advertised, but he made sure to share high praise for Clark, given her elite-level play in the WNBA.

He believes Clark is "for real" and she does "everything right." O'Neal thinks Clark reads the game the right way and has skill as both a scorer and playmaker. He believes despite the physicality Clark has dealt with, she's proven to be a "great one."

"[Clark] does everything right," O'Neal said. "I never spoke about her, because Angel is my girl but I can truthfully say... Caitlin Clark is for real. I’m watching her play and I'm trying to be upset but she makes the right pass, makes the right play. Girls try to beat her up and she doesn’t really complain. She’s a great one, even early on."

Caitlin Clark has had a generational rookie season with the Fever.

She's helped put the Fever back in the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016, garnering an 18-16 record. Indiana has won five straight games and have picked up nine wins in the last 11 games.

As O'Neal explained, she hasn't just shown that she can solely produce or attain individual accolades, but she's made the right plays for her teammates.

Clark is currently averaging 18.9 points, 8.4 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game. She leads all rookies in average points and leads the WNBA in average assists.

The Fever rookie is battling against Angel Reese for the Rookie of the Year award.

Reese has averaged 13.3 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-3 forward is the only rookie averaging a double-double and leads the WNBA in average rebounds.

While Reese has had a tremendous season herself, O'Neal was quick to give his flowers to Caitlin Clark.
