USC linebacker Mason Cobb has been listed as questionable for the upcoming game against Utah State. His absence from practice earlier this week raised concerns about his availability for Saturday's matchup.

Cobb played a significant role in the Trojans' season opener, recording seven tackles and tying for second on the team. His performance has been crucial to the defense, making his potential absence a notable concern for the coaching staff.

”Mason’s been limited for us this week, he hasn’t been a full participant in practice, will be questionable for the game,” said head coach Lincoln Riley.

With Cobb limited in practice, the Trojans may need to rely on younger players to step up.

"That next group of guys, Desman Stephens, Raesjon (Davis), (Elijah) Newby, and (Garrison) Madden, it would be a combination of all those guys,” said Riley.

The Trojans' depth chart indicates that Eric Gentry, Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, and either Stephens or Davis are next in line to fill the gap. Facing a less formidable opponent like Utah State could provide an opportunity for these younger players to gain valuable experience while Cobb recovers.
