While a lightening storm briefly delayed the start of the NFL's season opener, the late kickoff didn't thwart any excitement over the Kansas City Chiefs' matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football.

Taylor Swift, who's famously dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, arrived at Arrowhead Stadium for the Week 1 showdown. With Swift's "Eras" concert tour on break until mid-October, fans can expect to see the 14-time Grammy at numerous games.

Swift sat in a suite alongside Kelce's parents, Donna and Ed Kelce. Midway through the second quarter, Mahomes scrambled before connecting with Kelce on a 23-yard throw, which turned out to be a record-breaking pass for the three-time Super Bowl MVP. With Kelce's catch, Mahomes officially surpassed Hall of Fame quarterback Len Dawson for the most passing yards (28,507) in Chiefs history.

NBC's broadcast captured Swift's reaction on camera, which quickly caused a stir on social media.

Swift hugged Donna Kelce to celebrate the huge first-down play. While most fans were thrilled to see the "Blank Space" singer on TV, several "Dads, Brads, and Chads," as Swift previously referred to the haters, immediately started complaining over the brief few seconds she was on the big screen.

One person wrote , "Are we really going to have another NFL season where we have to show Taylor Swifts reactions after every Travis Kelce catch?" Another fan commented , "Can we all just assume that Taylor Swift is happy when her boyfriend catches the ball instead of showing her reaction every single time?"

While some viewers dislike seeing Swift on TV,  Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, head coach Andy Reid, and all of Kelce's teammates love having the pop star support the team at games.

The team's official X account even sent a personal message to the singer on Thursday night, "Call it what you want, but football season is here. Welcome back, @taylorswift13 !"
