Patrick Mahomes Has 5-Word Reaction to Ravens-Chiefs Ending

The four quarters of high-level football played between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night nearly came down to a matter of inches.

In reality, it was about half of an inch that decided the outcome, if we're being honest.

Trailing 27-20 with just seconds on the clock, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson found TE Isaiah Likely in the back of the endzone with a beautiful touchdown pass that would have given Baltimore a chance to tie the game or go for two and the win. The only problem? Likely's toe was half an inch out of bounds when he came down, making it an incomplete pass and ending the game.

After the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about the play, and he had the perfect response to sum it all up.

"It's a game of inches," Mahomes said.

That's a common phrase that has been used for decades to describe the game of football, and it's never been more true than it was on Thursday night, separating a potential win from a loss.

The Ravens will leave the game with a loss on their record that could have easily been a win. The Chiefs will leave the game with a win on their record that could have easily been a loss.

In a league where playoff spots and Super Bowl appearances are based on the slimmest of margins, that has a huge impact.
