Lamar Jackson's Patrick Mahomes Curse Goes Viral After Brutal Ravens Loss

The Baltimore Ravens were a toe away from potentially upsetting the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL season opener on Thursday night. Unfortunately, a loss is a loss, and it still counts towards Lamar Jackson's worsening record against Patrick Mahomes.

Jackson didn't play bad at all, finishing with 273 yards and one touchdown on 2-of-41 pass completion. He also rushed for 122 yards, which gave him the third-most rushing yards for a QB in NFL history. However, the Ravens just couldn't make something happen in the end.

An Isaiah Likely touchdown catch at the end of the game would have allowed them to tie and set up a potential game-winner, but the Ravens wideout was out of bounds and the TD was nullified.

With the Ravens' loss, Jackson is now 1-5 in matches against Mahomes over their respective careers. Prior to the Thursday showdown, the last time the two met was in the AFC Championship game last season, which Kansas City won 17-10.

Jackson's lone win against Mahomes came way back in 2021 when the Ravens barely edged out the Chiefs, 36-35.

Considering Jackson's lack of success against Mahomes, NFL fans were quick to troll him and remind him of his shortcomings following their latest loss.

"Lamar is fun to watch but I don’t think he’ll ever win outside of regular season. He can’t make the routine plays it takes to win. AND he’s 1-5 against Mahommie," another commenter shared.

A Jackson critic pointed out, " Beating the champs on the road means nothing. Lamar now 1-5 against Mahomes. Can’t win big games. 2-5 in the playoffs His best postseason win is against [Ryan] Tannehill. All those stats for nothing."

Unfortunately for Lamar Jackson, he will have to wait for some time to play the Chiefs again. The NFL opener is their only meeting in the regular season, so the next possible chance for him to get his revenge and improve his record against Patrick Mahomes is in the playoffs.
