Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens find themselves in a 0-1 hole following a 27-20 loss to Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The game was certainly a nail-biter, as Jackson led the Ravens to the Kansas City 10-yard line with 18 seconds left. After two plays, Baltimore had one last shot at the endzone to send the game into overtime. Jackson hit tight end Isaiah Likely in the back of the endzone, but he landed with his foot out of bounds after time had expired, thus ending the game.

This play was the story of the night, but the play before will have Jackson thinking for a few days.

On 2nd-and-goal with ten seconds remaining, Jackson had a wide-open Zay Flowers in the endzone but completely missed the throw, landing incomplete. It appeared that Jackson thought his receiver was going to stop earlier in his route, which led to the missed throw.

Still, NFL fans roasted Jackson after his mistake as they took to social media to leave their jokes.

"I was told he was a top tier QB that can make those throws," one fan said.

"Lamar Jackson with the game on the line and Zay Flowers wide open in the endzone."

"Lamar Jackson when Zay Flowers is wide open in the endzone to tie the game"

"Lamar Jackson throwing to Zay Flowers"

"Zay Flowers wide open in the end zone:
    Lamar Jackson to no one:"

Jackson finished the game completing 26 of his 41 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown. He also tallied 16 carries for 122 yards. The Ravens will look to rebound in Week 2 against a much less threatening opponent in the Las Vegas Raiders.
