Report Reveals USC Star was Investigated After Inappropriate Prank and Roommate Feud

    By Kevin Borba,

Miller Moss is fresh off of leading the No. 23 USC Trojans to an upset win over the No. 13 LSU Tigers in Las Vegas to open their season.

The win bumped the Trojans up to No. 13 in Week 2, and Moss is now being given his flowers for his gutsy quarterbacking in the win. He ended up being named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, but over the past couple of days, his performance has been clouded by scandal.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times , Moss' "feud" with a then-roommate led to an investigation by the program back in 2022.

In a video that TMZ released, Moss can be seen telling someone off-camera he is stealing their shirt. Later in the video, Moss and a couple of friends enter the room and go through the roommate's closet, and Moss can be seen urging the roommate to "take" a jacket. On top of that, Moss grabs a pillow off of the bed, and appears to pass gas into it.

The LA Times reported that the roommate was ex-USC quarterback Mo Hasan, who ended up filing a complaint with the university.

The report also revealed that the police were never involved in the incident, and no legal action was taken. As punishment, Moss was required to write an apology letter, and the school deemed the matter to be "settled."

When asked about the incident, head coach Lincoln Riley admitted that the report's timing was "interesting" but backed up his quarterback.

“That’s a high-quality individual there,” Riley said of his quarterback. “That’s one guy you gotta be careful about going after because the character of him, everything he does is high as anybody I’ve ever had.”

Hasan commented on the matter following the report, and while he did express that he wasn't the one who leaked the story or videos, he also hinted that more happened between them than what was on the video.

"Lmao I’m in Japan and wake up to the usc story," Hasan wrote on X . "Crazy I even had to clear that up but wasn’t me who released it. Do you know how many people had those videos to begin with 😂😂

"There’s a lot more to the story," Hasan wrote. "But it was a long time ago so we’ve moved on."

As for Moss, the program released a statement on his behalf, per TMZ . The quarterback expressed regret but asserted he is focused on the football season.

"I regret my actions and have grown and learned from this matter, and my focus is on the season ahead."

Moss threw for a touchdown and 378 yards in the Week 1 win, and will look to stay hot against Utah State on Saturday.
