Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever went into halftime with a five-point lead over the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, then watched it fade away as the team went ice cold in the third quarter.

After the team's 99-88 loss, Caitlin put the team on notice over the dismal third quarter with something of a warning to her team. The Lynx outscored the Fever 29-12 in the quarter with the Fever missing their first six shot attempts and finishing the quarter 3-for-15 from the field.

The Lynx built a 12-point lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Fever cut the lead to one point before Clark committed a late turnover in transition.

After the game, Clark said the team can't expect to win with a quarter as bad as the third.

"It’s hard to win a game when they outscore you by 17 points in a quarter," Clark said .

Clark also blamed herself for the fourth-quarter turnover, saying it was a play that killed her team's momentum.

Going into Friday's game, the Fever had won five straight games and clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
