Wesley Yates, a guard who transferred from Washington, has been fully cleared to participate in all basketball activities for USC . This news comes as a boost for head coach Eric Musselman as he prepares for the upcoming season.

Yates missed his freshman year at Washington due to a foot injury but was a highly regarded recruit, previously ranked as high as No. 37 in the ESPN Top 100. In his senior year at Beaumont Unified High School in Texas, he averaged 19.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.

After the firing of Washington's head coach Mike Hopkins, Yates entered the transfer portal. He received interest from schools like Oklahoma State and Louisville but ultimately chose USC, partly due to the presence of former Washington coaches Will Conroy and Quincy Pondexter, who is also Yates' cousin.

Now that he is healthy, Yates will compete for a spot in the Trojans' rotation. His six-foot-four, 200-pound frame could be an asset as the team undergoes significant changes, with Musselman bringing in a total of 17 new players through transfers and high school recruits.
