After Friday’s season opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers ended with quarterback Jordan Love suffering a gruesome leg injury and having to be helped to the sideline, fans were looking for somewhere to point their finger.

Well, they may have found it after a video posted by 247Sports’ Daire Carragher went viral with more than 750,000 views showing the offputting condition of the field after the game’s conclusion.

Chunks can be seen missing from the turf, which was likely conditioned for a soccer match and not fully capable of holding up to the rigors of a 60-minute football game.

“Billion dollar company allowed a middle school level playing field,” one user said .

“That field was not built for NFL. Different shape there's no crown. Soccer players [weigh] 120 to 180 lb. NFL players [weigh] 300 lb,” added a second fan .

“That turf was NEVER made to have American football played on it. The @NFL and many of its owners routine insistence to play on a subpar playing surface (fake turf especially) is beyond me,” a third commentor noted .

“Yes ‘Grow the Game’ but do a better job at picking a field that won't injure players, AND allows for the skill and athleticism of these Professionals to play their best! Stop with the Money Grab Location exhibitions... Do it RIGHT or don't do it at all!” exclaimed another fan .

“The NFL continues to put its players in jeopardy for the all mighty dollar,” remarked another user .

While the turf wasn’t the direct cause of Love’s knee injury, players were slipping and sliding throughout the game, and the condition of the field unquestionably played a factor throughout the game.
