Fans Are All Saying The Same Thing About College Football’s Most Overrated Team

On Saturday, the Texas Longhorns and Michigan Wolverines played for the first time since 2005. Texas won in 2005, and things started to trend that way, much to the fans' disappointment.

College GameDay and Big Noon Kickoff were in Ann Arbor to witness what people thought would be a close-ranked matchup. However, Michigan went into halftime down 24-3, as the offense looked abysmal.

College football fans from around the country watched the Wolverines and talked about how overrated Michigan was on social media.

Michigan started the season as the No. 9 ranked team in the country. It beat the Fresno State Bulldogs in its season opener and moved to No. 10 for Week 2.

The program won its 10th national title last season after beating the Washington Huskies to win the College Football Playoff. Michigan reached the playoff for the first time in 2021. The only Big Ten teams to make the playoff before that were the Ohio State Buckeyes (2014, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022) and Michigan State Spartans (2015).

Michigan lost stars like quarterback JJ McCarthy, running back Blake Corum, edge rusher Jaylin Harrell, cornerback Mike Sainristil, linebacker Junior Colson, and defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the 2024 NFL Draft.

As the game went on, Michigan was criticized. One fan even used the word "mediocre" to describe it.

"Michigan looking extremely mediocre and overrated," they said.

College football analyst Shehan Jeyarajah pointed out that he predicted Michigan struggling. He joked that his score prediction was too kind to Michigan.

"My pregame projection was Texas 27, Michigan 9, and I called Michigan the most overrated team in the AP Top 25," Jeyarajah said. "Turns out I was way, way too nice to Michigan."

One fan had something to say about Texas and Michigan. After watching the game, they concluded that Michigan is overrated.

"Michigan was INSANELY overrated and will struggle to be relevant in the Big 10 for the foreseeable future," they said.

Other fans could not believe how bad Michigan looked.

"I knew Michigan was overrated going into this season but omg they are sooooo bad," they said.

One fan talked about how the Michigan program was in shambles after watching what happened in Week 2.

"Michigan is in shambles," they said. "Holy overrated."

While most people questioned the offense, one fan talked about how bad the defense looked against Texas.

"Michigan has the most overrated defense I’ve ever seen," they said.

Some fans knew that either Texas was as good as advertised or Michigan was extremely overrated.

"Texas is forreal or Michigan is severely overrated," one fan said.

After watching what occurred, some even called Michigan the most overrated team in the entire country.

"Michigan easily one of the most overrated teams in the country." one fan said.
