Colorado safety Shilo Sanders exited the game against Nebraska unexpectedly and headed directly to the locker room. The exact nature of the incident leading to his early departure remains unclear.

In Sanders’ absence, sophomore Carter Stoutmire was called upon to fill the void. Just last week, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig, another pivotal safety, had to leave the game against North Dakota State early due to a head injury in the first quarter. Fortunately for Colorado, Silmon-Craig made his return to the field in this contest against Nebraska, providing some stability to the defense.

Official word came later in the first half that Shilo would not return for the remainder of the game. Sanders' absence presents a significant challenge for a defense trying to maintain its form.
