Cameras Catch Nick Saban's Reaction to Alabama's Struggles vs. South Florida

The Alabama Crimson Tide are now in their second game under new head coach Kalen DeBoer, and things aren't going as planned in the first half of their game against the South Florida Bulls.

Legendary coach Nick Saban stepped down as Alabama's head coach this past offseason. He retired to spend more time with friends and family, but he leaves coaching with a more than successful career. Saban is now a part of the College GameDay crew.

Deboer was hired as his successor and charged with leading the most storied program of all time. He makes way from the Washington Huskies, a school he took to the national championship game in his second and final season.

Now, under Deboer's leadership in 2024, No. 4 Alabama has a 1-0 record but is currently in a dogfight with USF at the half. The score is 14-6, and Saban, who began his day in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with College GameDay, is in attendance to watch his old team.

In a post by @UnnecRoughness on X, the ESPN broadcast showed Saban with a straight face, arms crossed, and shaking his head after a penalty was called on the Crimson Tide.

Disappointed in the on-field play, Saban is not used to Alabama being in close games with teams of lower caliber.

Alabama will look to run away with this game in the second half. With the amount of talent on its roster, this game should have been over in the first quarter.

The Crimson Tide will lean on preseason All-SEC quarterback Jalen Milroe to take them home.

Looking ahead, Alabama will hit the road next weekend, September 14, against the Wisconsin Badgers.

The kickoff for that one is set for noon ET.
