Colorado safety Shilo Sanders, the son of Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, suffered what is believed to be a broken forearm, his dad said at halftime of the game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

"I think a broken forearm or something like that, so he won't be back in at all," Deion Sanders said.

According to Gary Sharp, co-host of "Sharp and Handley" on Omaha, Nebraska's 1620 The Zone, the play occurred during a first-quarter collision with Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell.

Sanders was waiting for Dowdell in the emergency gap, but the Cornhuskers running back used his momentum to gain a few extra yards amid the collision.

"Shilo Sanders broke his forearm on the collision with Dowdell in the 1st quarter," Sharp posted.

Though the Buffaloes' program has not confirmed which play specifically caused Sanders' injury, it seems likely that the hit in the post below is what sent the safety to the locker room.

Sanders finished the game with two tackles. Here's one of them:

"Shilo Sanders was injured on the Buffaloes' first drive on defense after colliding with Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell on a tackle to stop a 13-yard run," ESPN wrote .

After Shilo Sanders' night was cut short in the first quarter, Deion mentioned that he would no longer be available to play against Nebraska.

Deion Sanders mentioned that the Buffaloes needed to look for an answer and attempt to get the team fired up to have a chance against Nebraska.
