Huskers fans rush field after Nebraska beats Colorado at Memorial Stadium

The Nebraska Cornhuskers knew Saturday night meant a little more than some other games and they played like it.

After setting the tone physically and dominating the majority of the game against the rival Colorado Buffaloes, including the entire first half, the players and fans celebrated like it meant more, too.

Hundreds of people stormed onto the field after Nebraska’s 28-10 win went final, celebrating the program’s 50th win over Colorado in 73 games, it’s first against the Buffaloes since 2010 and the Big Red’s first 2-0 start to a season since 2016.

Huskers head coach Matt Rhule called the atmosphere “electric” after the game and multiple players also called it one of the loudest games they’ve ever been a part of.

True freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola said he had a lot of fun on Saturday and definitely noticed the fans celebrating afterward.

“I heard the PA guy say no rushing the field and, well, I mean, that didn’t work,” he said with a laugh.

Raiola finished his second college game 23 of 30 passing for 185 yards and a touchdown while adding seven yards on the ground.

Nebraska will be back in action next Saturday, back at Memorial Stadium, when Northern Iowa comes to town. Kickoff in that game is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
