The End of Bills Romance: Stefon Diggs Reveals 'Old Girlfriend' Mindset After Trade

The Houston Texans are set for their Week 1 opener against the Indianapolis Colts, with old Buffalo Bills pal Stefon Diggs in the spotlight.

Admit it, Bills Mafia: You are locked and loaded into watching the Bills and their Week 1 meeting with visiting Arizona. But you will also glance over at the dramatic Diggs' debut with his new team after this offseason's notable trade, right?

Diggs himself, in trying to properly frame the move, is using a fun analogy as he focuses on his AFC South showdown featuring the Texans vs. the Colts.

Diggs answered a question about his time with the Bills by saying that he wouldn't want to talk “bad about my old girlfriend just to make my new girlfriend feel good ...

"I’m just happy to be where I am,” Diggs added. “That was a good fit, too.”

There were undeniably good times here with Diggs after he leveraged his way out of Minnesota to come to Buffalo. And in a way, this move to Houston was another sort of power move ... on the part of both Diggs and the Bills.

The "boyfriend/girlfriend'' romance was wearing off. The Bills depth chart, as a result, looks a bit thin at wide receiver right now ... while the Texas' group looks loaded there, featuring Diggs as a team captain.

“Obviously, the past couple of years, I’ve been a captain,'' he said. "Going to a new team, new scenery, new people, and earning the respect of my teammates, my coaches ... when I say 'everything' it means everything. ... So, to see them acknowledge that and they respect and appreciate you. I just want to do everything I can to be the best captain I can be.”

    And the best boyfriend.
