Shedeur Sanders Drops Blunt Admission About His Big Mistake vs. Nebraska

Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders owned up to their loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.
The 22-year-old quarterback, who is the son of Buffaloes coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders, admitted that he made a "rookie mistake" in the game that had a big impact on their 28-10 loss.
Speaking to reporters postgame, Sanders said that his interception early in the first quarter really hurt them. He was referring to the interception made by Nebraska cornerback Tommi Hill that led to a touchdown.
The play put the Buffaloes behind, 14-0, and they just weren't able to recover from that as the Cornhuskers went on to take a 28-0 advantage by the end of the first half.
"It was just a rookie mistake , honestly. That's what it was," Sanders explained, per On3.
"So, it's small things like that--that kind of thing just can't happen truthfully, but that stuff happened. So, we've just got to bounce back from it and learn from that situation and just be ready for it."
Shedeur Sanders finished with 244 yards and one touchdown on 23-of-38 pass completion. That pick-6 from Tommi Hill was the only interception he threw against Nebraska, though as the Buffs signal-caller confessed, it was enough to take the wind out of their sails.
The Buffaloes QB has been on the receiving end of a heavy backlash as well after he exited Saturday's game with two minutes remaining. Deion Sanders took him out with the game out of reach, and he proceeded to go to the locker room even though the game wasn't over.
Colorado returns to action next Saturday, September 14, when they face Colorado State. Sure enough, it's safe to expect Sanders to be more motivated after everything that happened in Lincoln, Nebraska
