It was a great rookie season for Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, but unfortunately, it was cut short on Saturday after she took to social media to announce her season-ending injury.

Reese will now be heading into surgery on Tuesday to repair her left wrist, which she injured on Friday against the Los Angeles Sparks. Many fans thought they had figured out when exactly the injury occurred in the game, but it turns out they were wrong.

Shortly after the Sky's win over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, Reese took to Instagram Live to chat with her fans about the injury and her relationship status, among other things.

While live, the former LSU Tigers star revealed that she hurt her wrist after falling backward on an and-one shot but didn't remember which quarter it happened in.

Upon further review, there was only one instance Reese made an and-one shot during the Sparks game, and that came at the three minute mark of the third quarter when Los Angeles center Li Yueru fouled her.

Reese stayed in for another ten minutes after the injury and was removed from the game with just over three minutes remaining. She finished her final game with 24 points, 12 rebounds and a 92-78 victory.

Reese's injury is at the 1:03 mark in the video below.

Reese left the Sky in prime position to make the WNBA playoffs, as they hold sole possession of the eighth and final seed following Sunday's win. If Chicago wants a chance at making the playoffs, guard Chennedy Carter will have to take on a much bigger role.
