Report: Vikings WR Jordan Addison carted off field during joint practice with Browns

Hours after it was revealed rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy will miss the 2024 season , Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison reportedly went down with a leg injury and was carted off the field during the team's joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.

Reporters at the practice say Addison went down on the sideline holding his leg after he leapt for a contested pass. The second-year wideout then hobbled over to the sidelines with the assistance of trainers and was taken in for further evaluation on a cart.

No updates have been provided on the severity of the injury.

Minnesota drafted Addison as the No. 23 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and he had a tremendous rookie season, especially without Justin Jefferson on the field after he went down with injury.

Addison snagged 70 passes for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.

The receiver is also facing a potential NFL suspension after he was charged with DUI from an incident in July.

If Addison is to miss an even longer amount of time due to this injury and/or the suspension, the Vikings may have to look for outside help at the position. As of now, players like Jalen Nailor, Brandon Powell, Trent Sherfield Sr., and Trishton Jackson could see increased roles.
