Paul Skenes Continues To Amaze Baseball World With Latest Performance

MLB fans were the only people more dumbstruck by Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes than Braves hitters on Saturday.

The rookie phenom was excellent again for Pittsburgh. He delighted not only Pirates and neutral observers but also Braves fans. Skenes received a standing ovation from the road crowd following his performance.

He settled in after allowing a lead-off home run to Braves center fielder Jarred Kelenic, pitching six innings and striking out nine Atlanta hitters while not allowing another run.

Despite his performance, the Pirates barely gave him any run support and lost, 2-1, in extras.

But that by no means dimmed people's appreciation for Skenes.

"Paul Skenes has started 9 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates and has not left the game with his team trailing in any of them. Is that good?" asked Codify's social media account, tongue-in-cheek.

"A strong performance from Paul Skenes in Atlanta," applauded MLB's social account.

"Against the braves, im impressed," added a commenter.

"Worth the hype 100000% my god," wrote another amazed spectator.

Skenes was drafted No. 1 overall in last year's MLB Draft.

With his performance on Saturday, Skenes dropped his earned run average for the season to 2.06.
