An Atlanta man was jailed after attempting to take down a confederate flag in the Upstate.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office arrested 23 year old James Blitch, of Atlanta Georgia Saturday for trespassing into a property on Teaberry Road in Spartanburg.  He was attempting to lower a confederate flag flying at mm76 off 85SB. According to Deputies, Blitch did not agree with the flag.

He told law enforcement that he drove from Atlanta on Saturday to lower the flag before returning home.

At the time of his arrest, tools including a Dremel and drill bits, were found in Blitch's posession. He was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center and charged with trespassing under a $460 cash surety bond.
