The Atlanta Braves are considered one of the best teams in baseball but could use a boost at shortstop.

Atlanta clearly is one of the best teams in the National League. The Braves currently hold the top Wild Card spot in the National League despite a plethora of injuries. Atlanta added around the trade deadline and could make a deep run this season but is more likely to fight for a World Series title in 2025.

The Braves will be closer to full strength when the 2025 campaign and could be even better if they are able to improve the shortstop position. Because of this, Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer mentioned the Braves as one of the top options for Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames early in free agency this upcoming offseason.

"Trevor Story and Javier Báez were likewise capable two-way shortstops fresh off their age-28 seasons when they inked six-year, $140 million deals after the 2021 campaign," Rymer said. "As such, there's your model for what Adames could be looking for this winter.

"If so, the typically thrifty Brewers figure to be out. But even then, his market could include big spenders with needs at shortstop, such as the Dodgers, (Atlanta Braves), and San Francisco Giants."

The Braves will have money to spend but it's too early to predict how they will spend it. It would be nice to add a shortstop and Adames would be a nice pickup, but it's too early to tell.
