Bienville Parish man who evaded sentencing for 3 decades denied new trial
HOMER, La. — A Ringgold man convicted of felony crimes in 1991 has been denied a new trial after evading the law and sentencing for 32 years. Greg Max Lawson, 64, was shuffled into the Claiborne Parish courtroom Monday in handcuffs, shackles and a striped jail jumpsuit. While waiting to get onto the courthouse elevator, Lawson told KTBS, “I’ve seen better days.”

The Hurds said Toby and his littermates were abandoned in a ditch in Shreveport 13 years ago and luckily all the pups were adopted by loving families. Toby has always been obsessed with sirens for a long time his owners say that Toby runs out every time he hears a siren and he howls along with sirens. Toby was recently diagnosed with cancer and the Hurds were told there isn't much they can do for Toby besides keep him comfortable.

Bossier man convicted of raping one child, behaving indecently with another
BENTON, La. (KSLA) — A Bossier City man faces a mandatory life sentence after being convicted of raping a child over a period of several years. A Bossier District Court jury unanimously found 52-year-old Cristian Jose Vargas Borbon guilty of first-degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile under the age of 13.

Willis accused Northwestern State head coach Don Beasley of paying him more than $1,000 to sign with the Demons in 1985. Shreveport Fire Department fire crews were dispatched at 9:39pm Sunday (7/14/24) evening to the 200 block of Egan Ave to a report of a single story residence fire. The first arriving SFD fire unit on scene reported the residence to have light smoke coming from the rear right side of the residence.
