Cody in line to land state shooting complex
POWELL — As the State of Wyoming moves forward with plans to build a world-class shooting facility, a panel is recommending that the complex be built in Cody. Following months of proposals, pitches and site visits, a task force voted 8-4 to favor a chunk of state land south of Cody over a competing spot near the Campbell County Cam-plex in Gillette.
JHLT to host free Greenspace concert Tuesday
JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Land Trust (JHLT) is putting on this year’s free Greenspace on the Block concert on Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. Headlining this year’s event is local band Outta Shorts. Concertgoers will find food options from Streetfood, Sweet Cheeks Meats and Saltlick Popsicles and drinks from Roadhouse Brewing and Troubador Selections.

Rough Stock Events – Bareback, Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding. Last year, Cole Reiner checked off a big item on his bucket list by tying for the win at the “Daddy of ‘em All.” That helped the Buffalo, Wyoming, resident qualify for his fourth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), where he finished the season in seventh place. Reiner is currently 15th in the world and hopes that CFD will make a difference in his 2024 season again. Today, a highlight will occur at Frontier Park when he competes in the bareback riding and watches his younger brother, Clay, in the steer wrestling.

The 44th Annual Riverton Rendezvous Balloon Rally flew on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday's launch was scrubbed due to wind. Twenty balloons from around the globe, 17 from the USA, two from Canada and one from Belgium made up the field this year. Specialty balloons included Baby T-Rex from Vernal, Utah; Humpty Dumpty from Louisville, KY and the celebrity speaker Peter Van Overwalle's Princess Nelly from Nazareth, Belgium.
