Choosing the right school for your kiddo is a huge decision for parents. But, what does that even mean - the "right" school? That answer is probably different for every student. So how does a parent - especially parents of youngsters just starting school - make that decision? WalletHub just released a report that might provide some insight to parents.
Police Warn Indiana Parents Against Back-to-School Photo Trend
If you plan on taking photos of your kids on their first day of school, there are some things that you need to know about before you post them on social media. Summer break is nearing its end. It feels like just yesterday, the kiddos were getting out of school and eager to take advantage of summer. In less than a month's time, kids will be returning to school. By now, you might have already started back-to-school shopping for clothes and supplies so the kiddos will be looking sharp on their first day back. Over the past few years, there has been a trend on social media where parents take photos of their kids on the first day of school posing with a sign to celebrate the first day of a new school year. These signs could be revealing more personal information about your child than you realize, and can all be used by predators, scammers, and other people looking to endanger your child, family, or finances.
Big Lots Shutting Down Stores Amid Financial Uncertainty
Big Lots is planning to shutter around 40 stores as the company opens up about their ability to continue. I've been shopping at Big Lots for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I could spend hours in the toy aisle, and even as a teenager, I spent quite a bit of time thumbing through the DVD and Blu-ray selections. My wife and I still shop at Big Lots on a regular basis today. It's safe to say that it's one of my all-time favorite stores. Need groceries? Done. Kitchenware? Easy. How about some furniture? They've got all kinds of options out on the floor.
DEI bullying assumes people didn’t earn their jobs
This commentary originally appeared in the Indiana Capital Chronicle. One of the most disheartening things I saw following the failed attempt to assassinate Donald Trump was a concentrated, days-long social media flogging of a female U.S. Secret Service agent. Social media users clipped shots of her from video, spread them and commented on her hair, […] The post DEI bullying assumes people didn’t earn their jobs appeared first on Colorado Newsline.
Boiler Alert - Can Purdue Beat Notre Dame?
There are some games where you know your team is running into an opponent that’s truly going to challenge them. Sometimes that’s because it’s a familiar foe who your team doesn’t match up well against. Sometimes that’s because they are a team with superior talent or maybe head coaching. Sometimes, it just means that your opponent is expected to be a top 10 team while you’ve been picked to finish last in your own 18 team league. Purdue finds themselves in the latter situation this season when Notre Dame heads to Ross-Ade Stadium. Can Purdue find a way to win this one? It will be Purdue’s second game of the season after a warm-up game against Indiana State in week 1. Will that game be enough to give Purdue fans and the team confidence that they can take down a (I say begrudgingly) good Notre Dame team? This is the question Ryan and I discuss here. We also talk about what Notre Dame lost and some key players they brought in during the offseason.
