    Resurfacing on K-25 in Rawlins County begins Wednesday

    ATWOOD, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation says resurfacing begins this week on Kansas Highway 25 through Rawlins County.

    The department says starting Wednesday, crews will begin mill and overlay work starting at the Thomas County line, working their way north to the U.S. Highway 36 juntion in Atwood. The second half of the project will be north of Atwood to the Nebraska state line.

    KDOT says the anticipate the southern portion of the project to be completed by the end of July, with the northern portion being completed by the end of September. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours.

    Drivers can expect up to a 15-minute delay. APAC-Kansas Inc., Shears Division in Hutchinson, is the primary contractor for the $8.8 million project.
