UNT Transfer Center Boosts Success Rates for Transfer Students
DENTON, Texas — The University of North Texas (UNT) is making notable progress in supporting transfer students through its dedicated Transfer Center. Recent institutional research highlights that 68% of UNT’s 2017 transfer cohort earned a bachelor’s degree within six years, surpassing both the Texas state average of 45% and the national average of 48%, as reported by the Community College Research Center (CCRC).
Lovejoy wins 5A Lone Star Cup; Allen, Frisco ISD, Celina crack top 10
The UIL finalized the final Lone Star Cup standings for the 2023-24 school year on Monday, and several area high schools ranked among the best in the state. After back-to-back years as the runner-up in Class 5A, Lovejoy parlayed a resounding athletics year into taking the classification's top spot, with Frisco Wakeland checking in at third overall. Allen finished third in 6A, with Flower Mound not far behind in sixth, while district rivals Frisco Panther Creek and Celina checked in at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively, over in 4A.
