They say it’s never too late to pursue your dreams, and Auburn resident Kimberly Karver is pursuing hers in a big way. Karver, an online English teacher for Maidu Virtual Charter Academy in the Placer Union High School District and Sierra College, said her retirement dream is to open a garden where she can teach the community things like tending to a garden, making jam or cooking a meal from what they’ve grown. Karver, 52, is one step closer to her dream as a Generation X contestant on this season’s MasterChef: Generations, which features talented home cooks from the Baby Boomer, Generation X, Millennial and Generation Z cohorts.
