    Berlin (Md.) 9, Auburn 2; Auburn 4, Berlin (Md.) 2: After absorbing the loss as starter earlier in the afternoon, Bryce Everson hurled three innings of shutout relief in the nightcap, securing Auburn's victory to capture the regional title in Bangor, Maine.

    Owen Sens' two-run single in the fourth inning snapped a 2-2 tie for Auburn, which advances to the Senior League World Series, to be played Saturday through Aug. 3 in Easley, South Carolina. Auburn was 4-1 during its week in Maine.

    Auburn will face the Southwest Regional champion at 9 a.m. Saturday in a first-round game.

    Matthew Friedland allowed just four hits over four innings to earn the win. Dylan Diosomito went 2 for 3 and scored twice.

    In the first game, Diosomito doubled and scored on a single by Patrick Saucier (2 for 3) in the fourth inning for Auburn, which had a six-game winning streak snapped, dating back to district tourney play.

    District 4 4, New Jersey 0: Host District 4 advanced to the championship after upending Toms River in a semifinal at Vernon Hill.

    District 4, which improved to 4-1 in the tournament, faces Middletown, Delaware, in the final at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vernon Hill. The Delaware state champ knocked off Bristol, Connecticut, 4-3, in the other semifinal.

    The winner of Wednesday's game earns a berth in the Senior League World Series, to be played July 29-Aug. 4 in Lower Sussex, Delaware.
