Suni Lee's Reaction To Screaming Fan's Two-Word Message Goes Viral

Suni Lee had an entire nation on her back Tuesday as she competed in the team events with the rest of the US women's gymnastics squad. One fan made sure to remind Lee that she was also representing her alma mater Auburn.

Lee helped the Americans win Olympic gold in the team round of women's gymnastics held at the Bercy Arena in Paris.

While in the heat of battle, Lee heard a familiar two-word chant from a distant fan in the stands.

"War Eagle!," someone yelled at Lee while she took a big gulp of water.

Lee responded by turning toward the fan and pumping her fist in approval.

The message was unmistakably paying homage to Auburn's famous rally cry.

After her stellar performance as an 18-year-old in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Lee chose to enroll at Auburn. Lee competed in two NCAA seasons for the Tigers. Lee chose to end her collegiate career early last year to focus on the Paris Olympics.

Lee and the US team led the pack with a cumulative score of 129.131 heading into the final round. They had a healthy lead over Italy (125.529) and Great Britain (124.164) before teams showcased their floor exercise routines.

Lee aided Team USA's cause with her floor routine that earned her a score of 13.533. Biles later ended up clinching gold while making US Olympic history in the process.

The US team finished with a final score of 171.296 across all four events.
