Rock Church Play opens this Friday
• Shows run every Friday and Saturday, July 5 through August 3. Star Valley’s traditional summer Rock Church Play is offering “History, Star Valley Style,” this summer with opening night this Friday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the old church located in Auburn. Sponsored by the Star Valley Historical Society, this is the 31st season of plays that have been produced in the Rock Church. The show will run through the summer each Friday and Saturday.

The recent commemoration near Moose, Wyoming, of the addition of the iconic “The Tetons and the Snake River” photograph taken in 1942 by legendary nature photographer Ansel Adams as one of 16 Adams photographs add to the U.S. Postal Service’s “Ansel Adams Forever” series, reminds me of another Ansel Adams connection with Wyoming.
Like In Wyoming, Pelicans Gobble Down Prized Yellowstone Trout In Idaho
Idaho and Wyoming share numerous wildlife species, such as elk, wolves, grizzlies and pelicans. Those pelicans have been raising a ruckus on both sides of the state line. The Alco Rod and Gun Club, which owns premier trout fishing lakes west of Laramie, had hundreds of pelicans gobbling up its coveted trout. So, the club got a special permit through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to haze the birds, and even shoot some of them.
7 Wyoming firefighters to enter 2024 Wyoming Firefighters Hall of Fame
CASPER, Wyo. — Seven Wyoming firefighters from around the state, including one from Casper, will be entered into the 2024 Wyoming Firefighters Hall of Fame. According to a news release from the Wyoming Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety, the Wyoming Fire Service Hall of Fame recognizes accomplishments and achievements of all first responders from a variety of agencies and departments around the state.
