Pocatello Fourth of July parade highlights Bannock County’s many celebrations
POCATELLO — Pocatello’s Independence Day Celebration will begin Thursday morning with the annual parade through Historic Old Town Pocatello. The “Star Spangled Celebration” parade is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Main Street and West Fremont Street. It will loop around West Sublette Street onto North Arthur Avenue before taking West Bonneville Street back to Main Street, finishing where it started.

A library in Idaho is limiting children’s access to comply with new law
A new law in effect this week in Idaho requires libraries to move books into an "adults only" section if a patron believes it contains sexual content that could be harmful to children. Libraries that don't comply face fines. But at least one library in the state, which says it doesn't have the space to create a separate section, now requires children to have a parent present, or a signed waiver, to even enter the building.

POCATELLO — On July 2nd, 2024, the Idaho State Police Domestic Highway Enforcement (DHE) Team conducted a traffic stop near Pocatello, Idaho, which resulted in a significant drug seizure. While patrolling Interstate 86, a DHE trooper observed a white 2015 Hyundai Genesis with a registration that was invalid. A traffic stop was initiated. Cokeville’s Bryli Groll has signed with the University of Wyoming track and field program. Groll was a three-time state champion in the 800 meters, three-time state champion in the 1600 meters, two-time state champion in the 3200 meters, and a state champion in the 400 meters. She holds the Class 1A state record in the 1600 (5:21.44) and 3200 meters (11:50.81). Groll also holds school records at CHS in the 1600 meters, girls’ javelin, and the Sprint Medley Relay.
