(Audubon, IA) — For the first time in school history, the Audubon Wheelers won’t be spectators at the Harlan Rodgers Sports Complex. On Tuesday afternoon, Audubon battles West Monona in the first round of the 2A State Baseball Tournament, coverage on 96.5 FM KSOM.

Most of the Audubon players did not mention the state tournament as a goal to start the season but as the summer rolled on, they realized it was more than a remote possibility. Led by the sensational pitching of Freshman Riley Miller, the Wheelers won their conference crown and then beat MVAOCOU in the regional finals 1-0.

Wheelers Head Coach Andrea Schwery says everything came together

Exira beat Audubon last year in the playoffs. In the off-season, the teams merged and Schwery says the transition was easy

Audubon 27-4 battles West Monona 33-7 on Tuesday afternoon from Ft. Dodge, coverage on 96.5 KSOM and westerniowatoday.com
